SWIMMING LESSONS

Here at Dandenong Oasis, we offer swimming lessons for people of all ages and abilities with qualified swimming instructors.

Introduce your child to the water in a safe and playful environment through the infant program. In the program a parent or carer supports the baby or toddler in the pool. This helps build confidence and supports the child’s learning process.

Children will learn to:

  • be familiar with having water over their face and head
  • control their breath and blow bubbles
  • float, paddle and propel themselves

In the preschool swimming program, children learn to become more independent in the water and begin to develop imperative water survival skills.

Children will learn to

  • body orientation
  • propulsion and submersion
  • basic stroke development
  • personal and water safety

The focus of the School Age program is on physical, intellectual and personal development. Participants will learn and gain lifelong appreciation for safe activity in the water, and learn vital survival skills not just for the pool but also for rivers, lakes and the ocean.

Children will learn to:

  • develop and refine swimming strokes
  • cooperate with and respect others in the aquatic environment
  • make safe and sensible decisions and solve problems in and around water

Its never too late to learn how to swim. The focus of the adult lessons is to help you develop swimming techniques in the water and to learn survival skills, not just for the pool but also for rives, lakes and the ocean.

You’ll lean to

  • develop and refine swimming strokes
  • cooperate with and respect others in an aquatic environment
  • make safe and sensible decisions and solve problems in and around water
